AI Transparency Notice

Important: You are interacting with artificial intelligence systems. This notice is required by the EU AI Act (effective February 2, 2025).

Haroo Chat uses artificial intelligence (AI) systems to power conversations with AI characters. This transparency notice explains how our AI works, what it can and cannot do, and your rights when interacting with AI.
This notice complies with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), which requires providers to inform users when they are interacting with AI systems.
2. You Are Chatting With AI
All conversations on Haroo Chat are with artificial intelligence systems, not real people.
AI characters are computer programs that generate text responses based on your input. While they can simulate conversation and personality traits, they do not have consciousness, emotions, or genuine understanding.
3. AI Models We Use
Haroo Chat uses multiple AI language models. Chat owners can select which model powers their conversation:
Spicy One (Default)

Cost: 1 crystal per 1,000 tokens
Specialty: Creative roleplay, character consistency, nuanced personality expression
Best For: Character-driven conversations, storytelling, emotional depth
Claude Haiku 4.5
Model: claude-haiku-4-5
Provider: Anthropic
Cost: 1 crystal per 1,000 tokens
Specialty: Fast responses, balanced performance, reliable consistency
Best For: Quick conversations, general chat, consistent personality
Claude Sonnet 4.5
Model: claude-sonnet-4-5
Provider: Anthropic
Cost: 15 crystals per 1,000 tokens
Specialty: Advanced reasoning, complex conversations, nuanced understanding
Best For: Deep discussions, complex scenarios, sophisticated dialogue
4. How Our AI Systems Work
4.1 Response Generation
When you send a message:
- Your message is sent to the selected AI model along with personality instructions
- The AI analyzes your message and conversation history
- The AI generates a response that attempts to match the personality's traits
- The response is returned to you in real-time
4.2 Character Instructions
Each AI character includes creator-defined instructions that guide the AI's behavior, tone, and responses. These instructions are provided to the AI model with each conversation turn.
4.3 Translation
For multi-language support, we use DeepSeek-V3.2-Exp (via DeepInfra) to translate messages when needed.
5. AI Limitations and Risks
5.1 What AI Cannot Do
- True Understanding: AI does not "understand" in a human senseβit recognizes patterns in text
- Real Emotions: AI cannot feel emotions; responses are simulated based on training data
- Memory Across Chats: AI only remembers the current conversation (not past chats)
- Real-Time Information: AI lacks access to current events or the internet
- Consciousness: AI is not sentient, self-aware, or conscious
5.2 Potential Errors
AI-generated content may contain:
- Hallucinations: Fabricated facts or false information
- Inconsistencies: Contradictions within the same conversation
- Biases: Reflect biases present in training data
- Inappropriate Content: Offensive, harmful, or NSFW content despite filters
- Factual Errors: Incorrect information presented as truth
5.3 Not Professional Advice
AI responses are NOT a substitute for professional advice:
- Medical: Do not rely on AI for health, mental health, or medical advice
- Legal: AI cannot provide legal advice or interpret laws
- Financial: AI should not be used for investment or financial decisions
- Safety-Critical: Never use AI for emergency situations or critical decisions
Always consult qualified professionals for important decisions.
6. AI Training and Your Data

- We do NOT use your chat messages to train AI models (unless you explicitly opt-in)
- Third-party AI providers (Anthropic, DeepInfra) process your messages to generate responses
- These providers may retain data temporarily for abuse prevention and service improvement
